همزمان با تشدید حملات نیروهای حکومتی به زنان در خیابان‌ها و بازگشت ون‌های گشت ارشاد، منابع دانشجویی از «گیت‌های تشخیص چهره برای ورود دانشجویان به دانشگاه و خوابگاه» خبر داده‌اند. برخی ناظران، تشدید امنیتی‌سازی خیابان‌ها و دانشگاه‌ها را نشانه وحشت حکومت از زنان و دانشجویان می‌دانند.
به گزارش کانال دانشجویان متحد، صف‌های طولانی گیت‌های تشخیص چهره برای دانشجویان خوابگاهی نیز دردسرساز شده است. در تازه‌ترین نمونه، ۲۵ فروردین‌ماه حدود ۲۰ نفر از دانشجویان که ساعت ۵ صبح از شهرهایشان برگشته بودند تا ساعت ۶ صبح اجازه ورود به خوابگاه نداشتند و مجبور شدند که پشت گیت‌ها منتظر بمانند.
